Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala has revealed that he has been diagnosed with a temporary neurological condition after collapsing twice within four days.

The 23-year-old suffered another worrying collapse during Bayern’s friendly against FC Heidenheim on Tuesday, just days after he went down during the victory over RB Leipzig.

Musiala has now addressed the incidents publicly, assuring supporters that he is receiving medical care and remains optimistic about his recovery.

    Musiala explains recent episodes

In a statement shared on Instagram, the Germany international said doctors had diagnosed him with temporary absence seizures caused by a neurological dysfunction.

“I’ve been diagnosed with temporary, brief, but easily treatable absence seizures, which are due to a neurological dysfunction,” Musiala wrote.

“These can lead to the recent episodes, like the one against Leipzig or now in Heidenheim.”

Musiala said the condition was currently being managed by medical specialists and stressed that he was doing well.

“I’m receiving excellent medical treatment and am very optimistic,” he added.

The Bayern star also confirmed that he had been cleared by neurologists to continue playing football while remaining in regular contact with medical experts.

    Bayern star asks for privacy

Musiala said Bayern Munich, his family and friends have been supporting him as he deals with the condition.

He also asked supporters and the wider public to respect his privacy, saying he wanted to keep further details within his close circle, the club and his medical team.

The latest incident follows a similar occurrence against Leipzig on Saturday, when Musiala appeared disorientated and unsteady before going down on the pitch.

Team-mates Ismael Saibari and Joshua Kimmich quickly came to his assistance, while medical staff attended to the midfielder.

Musiala was eventually able to leave the pitch under his own power.

The Bayern midfielder has now provided clarity over the incidents while expressing his determination to continue his recovery and remain focused on football.

“What helps me most on this path is continuing to chase victories and titles with my team and your amazing support,” he added.
