A lady has shared an unpleasant experience she allegedly had while travelling on a commercial bus, claiming she was forced to pay her transport fare twice after another passenger falsely accused her of not paying.

According to the lady, she had already paid her fare and taken her seat when the driver suddenly stopped the vehicle a few minutes into the journey to identify any passenger who had not made payment.

She claimed that before she could respond, another passenger pointed at her as the person who had not paid. Despite insisting that she had already settled her fare, the driver and other passengers reportedly refused to believe her.

    Passenger later admits the truth

While recounting the incident, the lady said, “I once boarded a bus, paid my fare, and sat down. A few minutes into the journey, the driver stopped, turned around, and asked, ‘Who hasn’t paid?’ Before I could say anything, another passenger pointed at me.” She explained that the accusation came as a complete surprise.

She further stated, “I argued, but nobody believed me. I had to pay a second time just to avoid being stranded. The funniest part? About 20 minutes later, the passenger who accused me quietly admitted he was the one who hadn’t paid.” According to her, the confession came only after she had already paid again.

    Story sparks reactions online

The lady’s account has attracted reactions on social media, with many users expressing sympathy and sharing similar experiences from public transportation.

Others said the incident highlighted the importance of verifying claims before reaching conclusions.
