Project 2025 was the warning. Michael Harriot says the performance review is now in, the goals have been carried out, and Black America is absorbing the damage. Now Harriot says the performance review is in: the agenda has moved from blueprint to policy, and Black America is taking the hit. Harriot breaks down how the Trump administration has targeted the federal systems used to document and fight racial discrimination, including efforts to stop collecting demographic data that can expose disparities. As Harriot puts it, “you can't fight racism if you don't have the statistics to do it.” Roland also follows the money. In the final year of the Biden-Harris administration, Black-owned businesses received $10 billion in federal contracts, a record total even though it represented only 2% of contracting. Roland says that under Trump the share has fallen to 1.2%, moving Black businesses toward a loss of nearly $5 billion in federal contracts. Harriot connects that decline to Project 2025 and Trump’s proposed effort to eliminate the Minority Business Development Agency. They also revisit Trump’s old “Platinum Plan” promises to Black America, including pledges to expand access to capital and make the Minority Business Development Agency permanent, and contrast those promises with what is happening now. Harriot argues that Project 2025 is bigger than one election or one president. He describes it as an effort to destroy Black progress, Black communities, Black institutions and Black people collectively, declaring: “They have a plan to kill us.” HASHTAGS #RolandMartinUnfiltered #BlackStarNetwork #Project2025 #BlackAmerica #MichaelHarriot #Trump #BlackBusinesses #CivilRights Black Star Network Partner: Chapter Chapter and its affiliates are not connected with or endorsed by any government entity or the federal Medicare program.
