Popular Nigerian streamer Peller has denied claims that he was referring to Afrobeats superstar Davido in a viral video where he described someone as “001” and “a user.”

His clarification comes after social media users linked his earlier comments to Davido, who is widely known by the nickname “001.”

    Peller clears the air

Reacting to the backlash, Peller insisted that Davido was never the target of his controversial remarks.

Una dey mad o. You see some blogger ehn until dey start shooting una for leg. No be Davido me I dey follow o. Yeah, no be am dey I follow talk. How I go dey follow Davido talk?” he said.

He added that he never expected the singer to attend his wedding.

“Me I no even put mind say Davido go come my wedding because if him come na una still go dey talk say him too dey show for everywhere.”

    Explains ‘001’ comment

Peller also defended his use of the term “001,” saying it was not exclusively a reference to Davido.

“Nah today I know say people wey call me olodo nah them be olodo uprising. Because how Davido name take be user? Anybody can be 001 in what they are good at.”

He explained further that his comment was aimed at people he described as “users,” adding that such individuals could also be regarded as “001” in that regard.

“I said some people are users, 001 mean they are good in what they do. For some people wey be user, there are 001 in it. Una all just want to bring me down. Davido is 001 in music,” he added.
