    Netflix has officially announced two new spin-off series set within the Top Boy universe: Jonny Boy and Jaq. The projects expand on the East London crime saga originally created by Ronan Bennett.Jonny Boy is a five-episode prequel written by Bennett and directed by Ali Abbasi. The series focuses on the origin story of Irish gangster Jonny McGee, played by Oscar nominee Barry Keoghan. Keoghan executive produces the series alongside Des Byrne for Wolfcub Productions, joining original series creator Ronan Bennett, Charles Steel, Alasdair Flind, Aubrey “Drake” Graham, Adel “Future” Nur, Maverick Carter, and Jamal Henderson.The second spin-off, titled Jaq, is a six-episode series created and written by Ryan Calais Cameron that follows Jacqueline—played by BAFTA TV award winner Jasmine Jobson—beyond the events of the Summerhouse estate. Jobson and Cameron serve as executive producers alongside the core production team of Bennett, Steel, Flind, Graham, Nur, Carter, and Henderson.Both Jonny Boy and Jaq are scheduled to begin filming in 2027, with official release details to be announced by Netflix.
