Liverpool are preparing to make an opening offer for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola as they step up plans to strengthen their attack following Mohamed Salah’s departure.

The Premier League club has identified the 23-year-old France international as its preferred target after missing out on RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomandé, who is expected to complete a move to Real Madrid.

Liverpool ready to test PSG’s resolve

Barcola is valued by Paris Saint-Germain at around £145 million, a figure that would surpass the British transfer record. However, Liverpool are hopeful of negotiating a deal closer to £100 million.

The French winger still has two years remaining on his contract, but reports suggest he is open to joining Liverpool in search of a fresh challenge after seeing his role reduced in the PSG squad.

Liverpool’s interest has intensified in recent days as the club looks to replace Salah’s creativity and attacking output ahead of the new season.

    Barcola emerges as top target

The Reds had previously focused their attention on Diomandé, but Real Madrid have moved ahead in the race for the highly rated Ivory Coast international.

That development has prompted Liverpool to switch their attention fully to Barcola, who enjoyed another productive campaign with the French champions and remains one of Europe’s most sought-after young attackers.
