A Nigerian man has sparked reactions online after recounting his encounter with a lady who allegedly blocked him after he refused to lend her ₦300,000, despite previously assisting her with ₦55,000 to buy a ring light.

According to the man, the lady had reached out through his direct messages, telling him she enjoyed his content and wanted to become a content creator but could not afford a ring light.

He said he asked for the price of the equipment and immediately sent her ₦55,000 to support her dream.

    In his words, he said:

“The level of entitlement Nigerian women possess needs to be studied. I was going through my DMs and saw a message from one girl. She said she likes my content and wanted to start creating content but didn’t have a ring light. I asked how much it was, she said ₦55k, and I sent her the money.”

The man explained that after some time without speaking, the lady returned to ask him to lend her ₦300,000, promising to repay the money within three months.

He said he declined, citing concerns that she was a student with no known source of income, but offered to give her ₦100,000 instead.

“She insisted it had to be ₦300k. I told her I couldn’t lend her that amount. She later asked me to just give her the ₦100k, but I told her the grace for that had gone. The next thing she did was block me. Imagine if I had lent her ₦300k,” he added.

The story has since generated mixed reactions online, with social media users sharing differing opinions on generosity, entitlement and borrowing money.
