You've built a sizable and loyal following on YouTube. Tell me the story of your journey and how you got into video creation and editing. How does your creative process work today?My journey started around age 12, when I became obsessed with watching creators make Adobe After Effects tutorials on YouTube — videos that taught me, step by step, how to bend reality and defy the laws of physics. I fell completely in love with the idea that I could come up with a story and use these tools to make it real. I went all in. Even now, our production pipeline still runs through After Effects. We time-remap every video down to the frame, sometimes with 50 to 100 marks in a single 60-second video. That precision goes all the way back to being 12. The tools have evolved enormously, but that discipline has stayed constant. Eventually I wanted a traditional experience, got my first job in TV, looked around and realized what I really loved was creating content online. I teamed up with other YouTubers to learn the craft, and when COVID hit I made a pact to upload one new video every day until lockdown ended. By the end of it, I had over a million followers. Can you walk us through how Adobe Firefly fits into your creative process from concept to final video? Right now, we're using a different pipeline of tools every single week. It's a genuinely exciting time to be a content creator. The most substantial evolution has taken place in pre-production with the release of Firefly Boards. In practice, I pull in a photo from our location scout, a reference image of our props, a shot of our talent, and Firefly Boards generates a composite showing exactly what the finished scene will look like. Producers collaborate on the same canvas in real time, flagging budget issues before we've spent a penny on a shoot. What makes it especially powerful creatively is the variation feature. You’re not just generating one asset and moving on. You can combine multiple ingredients, generate different outputs across AI models available in Adobe Firefly, then continue iterating on the strongest ideas. My brainstorming process used to be wall-to-wall Post-it notes — one idea per note, with the magic coming from drawing connections between them. Firefly Boards brings that same workflow into a generative environment, but now the entire team can collaborate and build on ideas together in real time. And it's not just Firefly Boards. At Adobe MAX last year, they showcased the auto-rotoscope tool in After Effects and you could feel the energy shift in the room. Rotoscoping is the thing everyone in post-production dreads. The fact that it's now automated quietly changes everything about how fast a team can move. Beyond that, because everything in Adobe Firefly runs on cloud compute, it doesn't matter what hardware you own. When I was 12, I was rendering two frames at a time on a slow shared PC. That barrier is gone. Anyone with an internet connection now has access to incredible professional tools that will give access to storytellers all around the world.How do you measure your success with your videos and platform growth?It depends on the content. For top-of-funnel content where the goal is mass virality, we're looking at views and follower growth. But once we've captured the audience, the job becomes building community, and that's when we weave in tutorial-based content, pulling back the curtain on how we make things. For those videos, we care most about shares and bookmarks. Those tell us the video was valuable enough that someone wanted to send it to a friend or save it for later. That's the signal that matters most for building a lasting community.How do you constantly come up with new, unconventional content ideas while keeping videos grounded in reality? How does AI come into play? Everything is a balance, and every tool exists to serve the story. The more you fixate on the tools, the less you're thinking about the real problem, which is telling a great story. Think about what George Lucas did founding Industrial Light & Magic to create groundbreaking visual effects for Star Wars, or what Steve Jobs did with Pixar — in both cases, a leap in technology gave storytellers the ability to tell stories that had never been possible before. Nobody left those films talking about the tools. They were just completely lost in the story. That’s exactly where we are with AI right now. I believe the storytellers who will truly define the next era, the people who create the next Star Wars or Toy Story moment, will be the ones who first figure out how to use these new tools and mediums to tell entirely new kinds of stories that simply weren’t possible before.How do you hope your videos evolve and grow in the future? The thing I'm most excited about is world-building — creating characters, narratives and storylines that can expand across fantasy, sci-fi, adventure, even horror.
