Written, directed, and executive produced by Tiffany Abney, JULES is a 20-minute sports action drama set in the world of professional motocross. Determined to reclaim her identity, Jules defies her boyfriend’s ban on motocross, igniting a fierce battle between love and ambition as she races against the ghosts of his past.

Starring Renelle Nicole as Jules (Power: Force), Mike Merrill as Rome (Tyler Perry’s: Where There’s Smoke), and Eric Lynch as Clutch (Hoorae Media’s Screen Time), the film explores themes of autonomy, control, ambition, and a woman’s fight for agency in a space that was never created for her to thrive.

Abney brings a rare perspective to action storytelling through her dual career as a professional stunt performer and filmmaker. Abney combines firsthand action expertise with a director’s vision to create stories that are both physically authentic and emotionally driven. Abney has stunt doubled for actresses Keke Palmer (Nope), Teyana Taylor (The Rip), Gabrielle Union (LA’s Finest), Kelly Rowland (Mea Culpa), Andra Day (The Deliverance), Angela Bassett (9-1-1), and more.

JULES has earned recognition at more than 30 film festivals worldwide. The project has been nominated for a Black Reel Award, numerous Jury awards, and Best Action awards across the festival circuit. Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival will be the project’s fourth Oscar®-Qualifying film festival selection.

“JULES represents everything I love about storytelling. Characters who fight for their dreams, stories that challenge expectations, and worlds audiences rarely get to see on screen. Being selected for the Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival is an incredible honor and a meaningful step in sharing this story with a wider audience.”
