Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has openly declared his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking with press on the country’s political direction, Adeleke said his decision was influenced by the principle of regional balance, noting that it is still the South’s turn to produce Nigeria’s president.

The governor also commended Tinubu’s administration for releasing funds to state governments, stating that the financial support has helped governors execute development projects and improve infrastructure across their respective states.

He further argued that leaders should be given adequate time to implement policies and reforms before being judged, stressing that meaningful changes often require patience and continuity.

“I am supporting President Tinubu because he has roots in Osun State, and because it is the turn of the South. Nigerians should please give him time to implement his reforms.”

“He has also made efforts in releasing funds to state governors to support development across the federation,” Adeleke stated.

As preparations gradually begin ahead of the 2027 elections, Adeleke’s endorsement is expected to fuel further debate over political alliances and the future direction of the country.
