Naomi Baker (All American: Homecoming) and Jay Reeves (The Six Triple Eight) lead the cast of ‘Tyler Perry’s Doing Life,’ an upcoming drama launching globally on October 2 on Netflix.

The feature centers on a struggling single mother whose fight for survival takes a turn when she forms an unexpected connection with a talented, reformed ex-convict (Reeves).

The ensemble cast includes Tamberla Perry (Brilliant Minds, They Cloned Tyrone), Karen Obilom (Send Help, Doom Patrol), Jasmine Sargent (Dynasty, The Day Ones), and Danielle Moné Truitt (Law & Order: Organized Crime, Rebel).

Perry wrote, directed, and produced the feature alongside producers Angi Bones and Tony L. Strickland. The project expands Perry’s multi-year creative partnership with Netflix, which has produced a slate of original titles such as A Jazzman’s Blues, A Madea Homecoming, A Fall from Grace, Mea Culpa, and The Six Triple Eight.
