Tim Scott went on Meet the Press to defend Ken Paxton, but when Kristen Welker asked whether Paxton had the character to serve in the U.S. Senate, Scott dodged the question and attacked James Talarico instead. Tim Scott went on Meet the Press to defend Ken Paxton, but when Kristen Welker pressed him on whether Paxton has the character to serve in the U.S. Senate, Scott never directly answered the question. Instead, Scott attacked James Talarico on policy and declared that Republicans would keep Texas “red to the roots.” Roland Martin blasted Scott for trying to make a character argument while defending Paxton, whose own Republican-controlled Texas House impeached him. The panel also called out Republicans who once voted to impeach Paxton but are now backing him after Donald Trump threw his support behind him. One panelist summed up Scott’s role inside the party with a brutal line: “Tim Scott still has not learned that tokens get spent.” Roland then turned to the stakes for Black Texans. He argued that Black voters do not have to be personally excited about Talarico to understand the consequences of giving Paxton a six-year Senate term, warning that Paxton would support policies that harm Black Texans and Black institutions. #RolandMartinUnfiltered #BlackStarNetwork #TimScott #KenPaxton #TexasPolitics #MAGA Black Star Network Partner: Chapter Chapter and its affiliates are not connected with or endorsed by any government entity or the federal Medicare program.
