Name: Nike Mind 002 Flyknit “Fossil Stone and Plum Eclipse”Colorway: Sand Drift/Plum Eclipse-Light Orewood Brown-Fossil RoseSKU: IR2176-101MSRP: $145 USDRelease Date: September 3Where to Buy: SNKRSThe Nike Mind 002 Flyknit returns in a new "Fossil Stone and Plum Eclipse" colorway. Beneath the earthy exterior sits the system that defines the young franchise: a cluster of outsole nodes engineered to press against the foot and engage the wearer's senses. This release pairs that mechanism with a knit construction aimed at breathability and reduced weight. The core of the Mind platform is a set of 22 nodes that move up and down against the underside of the foot. According to Nike, the placement is meant to activate sensory areas of the brain, a concept the company attributes to work done in its Mind Science Department. Rather than functioning as passive tread, the nodes are positioned as the shoe's central feature, intended to keep the wearer attentive to their surroundings as they move. The footbed is built to let that system operate. A stretchy fabric layer sits over the nodes, giving them room to travel while remaining soft against the skin. Underfoot, a soft foam midsole handles the cushioning, so the sensory hardware and the comfort layer perform separate jobs within the same platform. For the 002, the upper shifts to Flyknit. The knit is fitted with engineered perforations for airflow, and the material change lowers the overall weight relative to the original construction. This lighter treatment was first introduced to the Mind by Hiroshi Fujiwara of Fragment, and it has since become a recurring part of the series rather than a one-off experiment. The "Fossil Stone and Plum Eclipse" execution keeps the palette restrained. A pale beige runs across both the knit upper and the midsole for a near-monochrome base, while the outsole pods break from it in a contrasting brown. The result reads as a muted, seasonal option that lets the node structure register visually without a loud color scheme competing for attention.
