Morgan is elevating its performance credentials with the official debut of the Supersport 400, the most powerful production vehicle in Morgan's 117-year history. The flagship model represents a significant shift toward modern high-performance engineering and is the first production Morgan to exceed the 400 bhp threshold. The power plant of the Supersport 400 is a BMW-sourced 3.0L inline-six turbocharged engine – the B58 specifically, found in its "40i" models and notoriously in the Toyota GR Supra. This '01' iteration however is tuned to deliver 402 bhp and 369 lb-ft of torque. Power is managed via an eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox, propelling the car from 0-62 mph in 3.6 seconds with a top speed of 180 mph. Built on the bonded CXV aluminum platform, the vehicle maintains a lean curb weight of 1,170 kg (~2,580 lbs.), resulting in a power-to-weight ratio of 344 bhp/ton.Dynamics are refined through a standard Dynamic Handling Pack, featuring 24-click adjustable Nitron dampers and revised suspension geometry for enhanced cornering precision. The exterior receives a "purposeful evolution" with functional front wing vents and a move to gloss-finished lower bodywork. For aesthetics, the Supersport 400 sits on 19" lightweight forged Sportlite wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tires – the design is reminiscent of classic 90s sports car shapes and looks amazing. Inside, a mature CMF strategy introduces Alcantara upholstery, bespoke instrument dials from Caerbont, and an exclusive anodized aluminum gear selector.Priced from £112,965 GBP (approx. $152,000 USD), the Supersport 400 is available to order now, with production starting in May 2026.
