SummarySeiko debuts Presage Classic Series x Tomioka Silk Limited Edition, honoring Japan’s sericulture heritageThe 38mm pink-gold-plated timepiece features a textured, pearlescent white dial mimicking "shironeri" silkLimited to 2,000 pieces, the watch will release in July, 2026Seiko has welcomed a stunning new limited-edition timepiece to its Presage Classic Series, celebrating Japan’s rich history of sericulture through a collaboration with the Tomioka Silk Promotion Organization. Established in 1872, the Tomioka Silk Mill was the heart of Japan's silk industry and earned UNESCO World Heritage Site status in 2014. To honor this cultural legacy, the new Presage model features a dial inspired by "shironeri," an immaculate white hue achieved through the refinement of silk threads. As a tribute to the region's artisans, Seiko will donate a portion of the collection's proceeds to the Tomioka Silk Promotion Organization to help preserve and pass on this traditional craft. The limited-edition model (ref. HCC008) embodies a classic sense of refinement with its 38 mm stainless steel case finished in a pink-gold-colored plating. Its intricate dial pattern captures the smooth texture and graceful drape of Tomioka silk, specifically highlighting the pristine whiteness of a rare silkworm variety cultivated in Gunma Prefecture. Finished with a pearl-like coating, the dial elegantly shimmers in the light to impart a sophisticated radiance. Complementing the pink-gold-colored case is a dark brown leather strap sourced from Leather Working Group-certified tanneries, a color choice directly inspired by the elegant brick facade of the historic Tomioka Silk Mill.Beneath the finely textured dial lies Seiko’s in-house Caliber 6R51, an automatic mechanical movement equipped with 24 jewels and a three-day power reserve. The movement operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and can be viewed through a see-through screw caseback. Limited to just 2,000 pieces globally, this exclusive timepiece retails for €1,200 EUR (approx. $1,140 USD) and will be available at Seiko Boutiques and select retail stores worldwide starting in July 2026.
