Multi-Year Agreement Connects Pinion’s Platform with GEF’s Network Across 150+ National Member Federations

Pinion and the Global Esports Federation (GEF) today announced a landmark multi-year partnership that will expand access, visibility, and opportunity for young people through one of the largest domestic and international networks ever assembled in esports (athletic) youth development.

Under the agreement, Pinion has been named a Global Impact Partner and the Official App of the Global Esports Federation ecosystem. The partnership connects Pinion’s rapidly growing platform with GEF’s international network spanning 155 National Member Federations, creating a powerful framework designed to help young people showcase their talents and discover opportunities that can shape their futures.

While the partnership is rooted in esports, its impact reaches far beyond gaming. Together, Pinion and GEF are creating pathways that connect talent with institutions, organizations, and educators, as well as career paths across the globe. The initiative is built around a simple belief: talent exists everywhere, but opportunity does not always follow.

“Esports is the fastest-growing sport in the world, creating unprecedented opportunities for young people across every continent,” said Scott Spinelli, Founder of Pinion and Head of its Basketball Division. “Together, Pinion and GEF share a vision of a world where geography, economic circumstances, personal connections, or early recognition do not define talent. Instead, every young person deserves the opportunity to be seen, discovered, and supported in pursuing their goals.”

For decades, Spinelli built his career traveling the world in search of talent. Along the way, he discovered future professional athletes, mentored countless young people, and helped students reach opportunities that changed the course of their lives. Spinelli conducted numerous basketball clinics with kids from all over the world. Among those he evaluated was future NBA All-Star and Champion Khris Middleton. Yet the most important lesson he learned had little to do with sports. What he found was that, too often, talented young people never receive the visibility, resources, or connections needed to reach their full potential.

It was another basketball recruit originating from a French-speaking country in West Africa that brought the notion that real talent exists globally. The young man came here to finish out his Senior year of High School and, in 6 months, took the College Board for the very first time in English and scored a near-perfect score on the math section. Today, he is a lead engineer in the United States Navy.

Rather than functioning as a traditional social media platform, Pinion is designed as an opportunity discovery gateway where individuals can showcase their skills, interests, achievements, and aspirations. The platform is built around the understanding that success does not follow a single path. Some individuals develop early. Others emerge later. Many possess talents that extend far beyond athletics or academics alone.

Pinion’s proprietary compatibility technology helps connect people with opportunities aligned to their unique goals and potential, creating a more inclusive approach to talent discovery and development.

Since its launch six months ago, Pinion has attracted users from more than 35 countries and supports participation across more than 50 sports and activity categories, including esports, basketball, soccer, judo, flag football, and many others. The platform continues to grow into a global community where students, athletes, gamers, creators, and emerging professionals can gain visibility and connect with organizations seeking talent.

The partnership with GEF represents a significant step forward in that mission.

Recognized by over 150+ government-supported member federations, the Global Esports Federation has become one of the most influential organizations in the international esports landscape. Through this partnership, Pinion gains the ability to engage with a truly global community while helping create new opportunities for future generations.

“Esports is more than competition. It’s a catalyst for connection, innovation, education, and opportunity for young people everywhere,” said Sir Paul J. Foster, President & CEO, Global Esports Federation. “The Global Esports Federation believes talent exists in every community and every corner of the world. Through this partnership with Pinion, we are strengthening pathways for the next generation to be discovered, empowered, and connected to opportunities that can shape their futures. Together, we are building a more inclusive and interconnected global esports ecosystem where everyone has the opportunity to participate and thrive.”

GEF Chief Impact Officer Thanos Katarinas also expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership: “This partnership reflects a shared commitment to creating meaningful impact through esports and youth empowerment. Pinion’s vision aligns strongly with GEF’s mission to advance opportunities that transcend borders, backgrounds, and traditional pathways. By combining GEF’s global community with Pinion’s innovative platform, we can help unlock potential, amplify emerging talent, and inspire future generations across the world.”
