A man has criticised Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke after the governor expressed renewed support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu following his victory in the 2026 Osun governorship election.

The man, who appeared disappointed by Adeleke’s remarks, questioned why the governor had to mention his commitment to Tinubu while delivering his victory speech.

He said the development left him feeling betrayed after he had celebrated Adeleke’s electoral victory, adding that he had even used his boxers to celebrate the outcome.

    Man questions Adeleke’s statement

Reacting to the governor’s speech, the man said, “Governor Adeleke, na God go punish you. After you don make me use boxers dance dey celebrate say you win election.”

He further questioned Adeleke’s decision to reaffirm his support for Tinubu, saying, “Your speech, you con dey talk say you dey reaffirm your commitment to the president Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his return.”

The man suggested that Adeleke’s statement could fuel speculation about a possible political realignment, asking whether the governor could eventually leave the Peoples Democratic Party for the All Progressives Congress.

    Man expresses disappointment

The man also challenged the description of the Osun election as free and fair, referencing reports of deaths allegedly recorded during the electoral process.

Must you mention the president? With all that APC is doing, you say you want to reaffirm. Reaffirm what?” he asked.

He concluded by accusing politicians of prioritising personal interests, saying, “It shows all of you are just for personal interest.”

Adeleke’s comments have continued to generate discussion, particularly over the political relationship between the Osun governor and President Tinubu following the governorship election.
