On Colin Kaepernick's 15th anniversary of being drafted in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft rewatch Marc Lamont Hill's interview on REVOLT TV where he discusses Colin Kaepernick's decision to not stand and salute the flag. Kaepernick was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft as the 36th overall pick. The 49ers traded up with the Denver Broncos to select him. During the 2016 NFL preseason, Kaepernick refused to stand, rather sitting then kneeling, during the national anthem and unfurling of the American flag on the field. His protest was intended to raise awareness for police brutality and racial injustice against African Americans and minorities. In this 2016 interview, Marc points out why Kaepernick's decision is comparable to the actions of Muhammed Ali when he sacrificed personal gain to stand against the war.
