    By Monica Lewis Howard University’s men’s and women’s basketball teams have both captured Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) regular season championships, marking the first time since 1987 that both Bison basketball programs have achieved this feat in the same season. The historic milestone was secured following victories on Thursday at Norfolk State to close out the regular season, solidifying Howard’s position at the top of the conference standings for the men’s and women’s teams. Both teams will enter the 2026 MEAC Basketball Tournament as the No. 1 seeds when the event tips off March 11–14 in Norfolk, Virginia.
