    The giant social media company Meta, which owns Instagram and Facebook, has recently agreed to a settlement worth $18 billion dollars. Meta was sued by 48 U.S. states over practices which the say were harming children who use social media. Many changes will need to be implemented, such as a two-hour daily limit, no overnight notifications, makeup filters blocked, and more. Some celebrate this decision while others worry that internet restrictions such as these are the beginning of the government's encroachment on an open and free internet.
