Studio Ghibli's lifestyle label GBL releases three limited-edition Porco Rosso Classic T-shirts through Donguri Republic, each built around a different scene from the filmConstruction varies across the capsule, with techniques ranging from rubber and semi-rubber ink printing to chain stitching, embroidery, and canvas appliqué details

GBL has dropped a three-piece Porco Rosso Classic T-shirt capsule through Donguri Republic, Studio Ghibli's official merchandise retailer, turning three of the 1992 film's most recognizable moments into scene-specific cotton garments that treat their source material with unusual design fidelity. Each tee in the capsule is anchored to a distinct scene from the film, and the design language shifts accordingly. The "Ambush" (待ち伏せ) edition recreates the moment the Mamma Aiuto Gang lies in wait for Porco, using the T-shirt's seamless, side-seam-free body construction to run the illustration continuously from front to back. The front panel is finished in rubber print, while the rear uses semi-rubber ink, producing a layered, dimensional effect that gives the approaching air pirates a sense of advancing depth. A canvas-fabric Mamma Aiuto Gang flag is sewn onto the chest as a tactile accent. The body color is khaki, chosen to echo the air pirate coalition's palette. The "Air Pirate Coalition" (空賊連合) edition takes a wider lens on the same crew, covering the white body in a large, multicolored print of the pirate fleet's airships. The rendering goes granular, with individual crew members drawn in fine linework and each aircraft's coloring and markings differentiated across the composition. Like the "Ambush" tee, it carries a canvas Mamma Aiuto flag patch at the chest, tying the two pirate-themed designs together as a visual pair. The third design, "A Pig That Doesn't Fly Is Just a Pig" (飛ばねえ豚はただの豚だ), pulls from one of the film's most quoted scenes: Porco calling Gina on the phone to deliver the line that has followed the character for over three decades. The construction here is the most detail-rich of the three. The body uses a half-tube structure with chain stitching at the side seams, while the chest features an embroidered Hotel Adriano sign with the telephone cord motif rendered in stitch. Even the interior size label carries an illustration of Gina's worried expression during the call. The GBL Porco Rosso Classic T-shirt collection is available now via Donguri Republic.
