DALLAS — At Emmett J. Conrad High School, a major milestone is on the horizon for one standout senior whose journey reflects both discipline and determination.

On April 8, Cadet Jordan Pham will be recognized as a recipient of the highly competitive National Navy ROTC Scholarship, an award valued at up to $200,000. The honor will be formally presented by Navy Chief Leonela Jones during a ceremony at the school, marking a proud moment not just for Pham, but for the entire Conrad community.

The scholarship will support Pham’s next step at University of Texas at Austin, where he plans to continue his studies while training to become a commissioned officer in the United States Navy.

A Dallas Student Doing It All

Pham’s story stands out because of how much he has managed to accomplish at once. Ranked No. 6 in his graduating class, he has maintained strong academic performance while also preparing to graduate with both his high school diploma and an associate degree through Conrad Collegiate Academy.

He is also a member of the National Honor Society, a reflection of his commitment to scholarship, leadership and service.

Outside the classroom, Pham has made his mark in athletics as a member of the Conrad Swim Team. His dedication earned him a spot on the Texas High School Coaches Association Academic All-State 2nd Team, an honor reserved for student-athletes who excel in the classroom while competing at a high level.

    Leadership That Leaves a Legacy

Pham’s impact also reaches into leadership through his involvement in the school’s JROTC program, where he has helped lead the award-winning Conrad Charger Battalion.

For Command Sergeant Major (Ret.) Leon Johnson, who has mentored Pham over the past four years, the recognition reflects more than academic success. It represents the kind of well-rounded excellence Dallas schools strive to cultivate.

“Watching Jordan grow over the last four years into the leader he is today has been a profound honor,” Johnson said. “At Conrad, we strive for excellence in everything we do. Jordan’s ability to rank in the top 10 of his class and earn a collegiate degree while leading our JROTC program is exactly why he was selected for this esteemed honor. It’s a proud day for the Charger Battalion and the entire Conrad community.”

A Moment of Pride for Dallas

As families, classmates and faculty gather to celebrate, Pham’s achievement serves as a reminder of what’s possible when opportunity meets preparation. His journey reflects the spirit of many Dallas students who are balancing academics, extracurriculars and big dreams for the future.

For Conrad High and the broader Dallas community, April 8 will not just be about a scholarship. It will be about honoring a young leader whose next chapter is already taking shape on a much larger stage.
